Patrick Billard began his career as an engineer at the legendary Loho studios in the Lower East Side. Specializing in analog mixing on a Neve 8048 console and an arsenal of classic vintage microphones and equipment, Patrick was the assistant engineer on the Grammy award winning album “Wonder Wheel” by the Klezmatics, and then Loho resident engineer for a wide range of well-known acts like The Roots, Ryan Adams, Rosanne Case, O.A.R., They Might Be Giants, Bloc Party, Hem, Albert Hammond, Jr. (The Strokes), The Virgins, The Dust Brothers, Gov’t Mule among others.
Since joining SweetSounds in 2008, Patrick has worked on a number of well received mix tapes for Aesop Ant, Munch, Vaca, Corp Boyz, SIB Boyz, and more. Additionally, Patrick’s experience in voiceovers, commercials, and ADR has led to an extensive list of credits, including commercial work for Lufthansa and Center Light Health Group, The National Geographic, The Guggenheim museum, and The Associated Press. He has worked with an long list of celebrity talents as well.
His mixing reputation around the studio is for making songs loud and deep. Also an accomplished DJ, Patrick is known for bringing out heavy bass and building wide mixes: giving tracks an epic, powerful feel.
His analog roots have given his projects an old school flavor with new school attitude and clarity, making him a favorite among clients looking for the best of both worlds. His vibe is always chilled and relaxed as well, which makes his sessions easy-going and always satisfying.
